Reese Cameron

Your name: Het

Character name: Reese Cameron

Important features: Short, skinny, pale, British. He doesn't smile with his teeth because it unnerves people to see his fangs. Oh right, he's a vampire. But not the traditional kind. I wrote up details in his profile here.

He gets his blood from a blood bank and drinks it nightly from a coffee mug he heats in the microwave. He's obsessed with music and classic literature. He double-majored in English and Philosophy at Cambridge but works the graveyard shift at an indie record store in London. For possessing the closest thing to immortality one can get (or perhaps because of it), he's terrifically unambitious.

Also, he hates Twilight.

Your character’s world: Pretty much ours, except vampirism is a blood disorder. Some people treat it as such, but the more dramatic take cues from Anne Rice and have underground gangs and factions that can give the authorities trouble. That creates a bit of a stigma against the poor people who handle it like a condition such as diabetes, which is what it is. Hence Reese's reluctance to reveal said fact about himself.

One thing you think everyone should know about your character: He's a quietly cynical vampiric loner, but he's really quite pleasant?

One thing you would like to develop about your character: Man, like. I've had him since 2005 but I've never been able to hook a plot for him. I'd like to figure out a story he can fit into that's worth telling. I invented him shortly before the Twilight craze, and that whole mess nearly scared me off vampires for good. But I've always had a soft spot for Reese and I think he deserves a forever home, lol.
